Removing glass cleaner stains from leather

In general: always work on a complete section, from seam to seam. Do not rub only on the stain, this can the stain worse and remains visible even after cleaning. Never use the products directly on the leather but always apply it to a cloth or soft sponge to distribute on to the leather! When in doubt, contact us!


Smooth leathers: (aniline)

Dark stains:

  1. clean with the Keralux® strong cleaner
  2. if necessary: dab dark edges with the Keralux® ballpoint remover II for a smoother transition. 
  3. after using the Keralux® ballpoint remover II use your Keralux® strong cleaner again to wash away the remains of the ballpoint remover
  4. nourish and protect with the Keralux® lotion A
  5. colourloss can be restored with the Keralux® colour repair set

light stains:

  1. nourish with the Keralux® lotion A
  2. colourloss can be restored with the Keralux® colour repair set

Smooth leathers: (saddle or waxed leather)

dark stains:

  1. clean with the Keralux® strong cleaner
  2. nourish with the Keralux® lotion S
  3. colourloss can be restored with the Keralux® colour repair set

light stains:

  1. nourish with the Keralux® lotion S
  2. colourloss can be restored with the Keralux® colour repair set

Smooth leathers: (semi-aniline, pigmented or covered leather)

NB if the leather feels sticky to the touch, the toap coat is likely damaged. In that case it might be better to contact us to see whether or not a repair is necessary.

  1. clean with the Keralux® cleaner active plus
  2. nourish with the Keralux® lotion P

Nubuck and suède leathers:

  1. clean with the Keralux® cleaning cloth for nubuck

if that isn't sufficient:

  1. clean with the Keralux® degreaser according to the instructions. Let the powder dry for at least 1-2 hours before using your vacuum-cleaner with a furniture attachment to dust off the powder.
  2. clean with the Keralux® strong cleaner
  3. nourish with the Keralux® lotion N
  4. colourloss can be restored with the Keralux® colour repair set
  5. protect with the Keralux® spray N with UV-filter

Vintage leathers:

  1. clean with the Keralux® degreaser according to the instructions. Let the powder dry for at least 1-2 hours before using your vacuum-cleaner with a furniture attachment to dust off the powder.
  2. clean with the Keralux® strong cleaner
  3. nourish with the Keralux® lotion Vi
  4. colourloss can be restored with the Keralux® colour repair set
  5. protect with the Keralux® spray N with UV-filter

NB every stain is different and every previous treatment of the stain can influence the result. Always try out every product on a hidden area before treating the stain. If in doubt, contact us.
