Removing shoe polish stains from leather

In general: always work on a complete section, from seam to seam. Do not rub only on the stain, this can the stain worse and remains visible even after cleaning. Never use the products directly on the leather but always apply it to a cloth or soft sponge to distribute on to the leather! When in doubt, contact us!

If case of colourloss you can use the Keralux® colour repair set  to retouch the colour before you protect the leather again. (NB before using the lotion A, S, P or the spray N)

Smooth leathers: (aniline leather)

  1. clean with the Keralux® degreaser according to the instructions. Let the powder dry for at least 1-2 hours. Afterwords use the furniture attachment of your vacuum-cleaner to remove the powder from the leather.
  2. use the Keralux® Ball Pen Remover II according to the instructions
  3. clean with the Keralux® strong cleaner. Put a small amount of the cleaner into a soft sponge and squeeze the sponge to create foam. Apply the foam to the leather and let it work briefly, but don’t let it dry! The foam has to remove the soiling and neutralize colour remover in the Keralux® ball pen remover II. Remove the foam with a soft damp cloth (preferably with distilled water to prevent lime scale)
  4. nourish and protect the leather with the  Keralux® lotion A (aniline leather)

Smooth leathers: (saddle or waxed leather)

NB a treatment as listed above may be necessary for saddle or waxed leather. We don’t advise this because the degreaser and the ball pen remover don’t differentiate between the waxed finish of the leather and the grease stain. The waxed finish may be damaged by using these products, resulting in a worse stain.

Remove the foam with a soft damp cloth (preferably with distilled water to prevent lime scale).
